Driftwood Shingle Color

Driftwood shingle color appears in seven shingles from CertainTeed, GAF, IKO and Owens Corning, shown below on real homes.

The name covers a range. CertainTeed reads coolest and GAF warmest, with the rest in between.

A two inch swatch cannot show how that range reads on your roof, in your light. One photo of your house can.

What Driftwood Looks Like on a Roof

Driftwood sits in the gray brown middle of the range. It reads gray under overcast light and brown in direct sun.

Four brands build it, and no two land on the same hex. The swatches below are the manufacturer crops, not a rendering.

IKO Cambridge is the darkest of the seven. GAF Timberline HDZ is the lightest and warmest.

What Driftwood Costs per Square

$113 to $185 per square

Materials only, three bundles to a square, from a 2026 Home Depot and Lowe's retail snapshot.

Oakridge is the cheapest way into the color. Cambridge sits at the top of the range and carries a lifetime warranty.

Tear off, underlayment, ridge cap and labor are quoted separately.

Driftwood questions.

CertainTeed, GAF, IKO and Owens Corning all build a Driftwood. CertainTeed carries it in Landmark, Landmark Pro and Northgate Climateflex, Owens Corning in Duration and Oakridge.

Both, depending on the brand. CertainTeed Landmark Driftwood is a cool gray brown. GAF Timberline HDZ Driftwood is a warm tan brown.

Driftwood holds up against white, cream, beige and sage siding. The gray in it keeps warm siding from reading orange, which is the common failure with a browner shingle.

Materials run about $113 to $185 per square across the seven shingles. A 30 square roof works out to roughly $3,400 to $5,600 in shingles before labor.
