Storm Damage Roof Inspection.

Storm damage roof inspection: type your Florida address to see what the records show for your roof. Then pick a date and book the inspection. The lookup is free, with no signup.

What happened? Optional

A Florida roofer calls you to schedule. Free, and we never sell your details.

Before an inspector climbs up, read the roof age, material and named-storm history on record for the house. The partner inspector then confirms the price for the visit when you book.

(01) Records to pull first

Storm records for your roof.

Named storms on file, plus nearby hail reports.

Pull these four lines from the free report before the inspector arrives.

01

Storm history

Each hurricane and tropical system logged for the address, by name. Hail NOAA recorded within 5 miles is listed too.

02

Roof age

Dated by the latest re-roof permit, or given as a labeled estimate.

03

Design wind speed

Shown for the location, with the FEMA flood zone and the evacuation zone.

04

Material and score

The covering on record and the roof score the report assigns.

(02)Claim clock

The storm date and your claim.

Florida gives you 1 year from the day of the storm to open or reopen a property claim. Extra items on the same loss can follow for up to 18 months.

Note the storm date when you book, and keep the inspection report with your claim papers.

  • Replacement cost policy. Covers what a new roof costs.
  • Actual cash value policy. Takes off depreciation for the roof's age and wear first.
  • Roof with no permit. Carriers tend to date it to the house, which raises its age on paper.

(04) Questions

Common questions.

This page lists no inspection price. The partner inspector tells you what the visit costs when you book, before anyone comes to the house. The roof report you read beforehand is free, and it shows the age, covering and named storms on record for the property.

It lists the named hurricanes and tropical systems on file for the address, and the hail reported within 5 miles, which shows what the area faced rather than what hit your roof. Damage to your own roof is something an inspector documents on site. Treat the report as the background record you hand the inspector, then let the inspection speak to the condition.

Not on newer home policies. If your residential policy was written on January 1, 2023 or later, Florida's 2022 reforms took assignment of benefits off the table, and the claim stays in your hands. Check the issue date printed on your policy to see which rule covers you.

This site does not set claim procedure, and your carrier decides what it needs from you. An inspection puts the roof's condition in writing, and the 1-year reporting window keeps running while you wait. Read the free report first, then book, and the partner inspector confirms the price.

It can. Under Florida's repair rule, once more than a quarter of a roof has been repaired or replaced in a 12-month span, the remainder has to be brought up to current code. Roofs installed to the 2007 code or newer have been exempt since 2022 and get the damaged section fixed alone.

Open the budget estimator from this page. It measures the roof from aerial imagery and gives an installed-cost range, and from there your repair or replacement request goes to partner Florida roofers. Bring the inspection report into that conversation so the roofer prices the damage the inspector found.
