Insurance & Warranty

How do you get insurance to pay for a roof replacement?

Tie the damage to a specific covered event and document it thoroughly. Photograph the damage, note the storm date, keep any repair receipts, and file the claim promptly, since delays let insurers argue the damage is old or from neglect. A reputable roofer's written inspection report strengthens the claim.

During the adjuster's visit, be present and point out storm-related damage: creased or missing shingles, hail bruising, and lifted flashing. If the payout seems low or the claim is denied, you can request a re-inspection or, in many states, involve a licensed public adjuster.

Avoid contractors who promise to "waive your deductible" or guarantee approval; that is a red flag and, in Florida, insurance fraud.
