Roof Colors

What is the best color for a metal roof?

Metal roofs come in a wider factory palette than shingles, but the practical favorites are still charcoal, black, and matte grays, followed by earth tones like bronze and clay for warmer homes. In hot climates, lighter and reflective (cool-rated) finishes noticeably reduce attic heat gain, so a light gray or a reflective-pigment dark can lower cooling load.

Standing-seam metal reads more modern than shingles, so bold choices (deep blue, forest green, burgundy) look intentional on the right architecture, especially farmhouse and coastal styles.

Finish matters as much as hue: matte hides oil-canning and dust better than gloss.
