Roof Colors

How do I choose a roof color?

Start with the parts of your house that will not change: the siding, brick, or stone, and the fixed trim. A roof color should either echo an undertone already in those materials or provide deliberate contrast. Warm materials (brick, tan stucco, wood) pair with brown, weathered wood, and driftwood tones; cool materials (gray siding, white trim, blue accents) pair with charcoal, slate, and black.

Factor in climate. In Florida sun, lighter and mid-tone shingles stay cooler and fade less noticeably than very dark ones, though modern architectural shingles hold color well across the range. Also check your HOA or deed restrictions, which often limit the palette.

The fastest way to decide is to see the color on your own house rather than a sample board. Upload a photo and preview real shingle SKUs in seconds.
